Being aware of Now

Gestalt Therapy helps clients become more aware of the present and to do this the therapists follow a few rules.  When using these rules the therapists will explain to the client that they can only speak in the present tense, never talk about someone without addressing who they are, speak about their own body by using the word I, don’t focus on why but rather how and what, and encourage clients to make statements instead of questions.

When a therapist is working with a client they must establish trust first.
