When injecting a drug there are many different ways of injection and different drugs and reasons for choosing that ways. The different ways are: subcutaneous, intramuscular, intraperitoneal, and intravenous. Subcutaneous is the injections just under the skin, intramuscular is when the needle goes into the muscle, intraperitoneal is the when the needle is inserted through the stomach muscle and reaches organs, and intravenous is the injection of the needle to a vein. Drug users typically inject heroin or cocaine but other drugs are possible for needle injection. In order for this to be possible the drug user must form a vehicle. A vehicle is when the drug is turned form a solid to a liquid.
